OctPoWriMo Day 21: The Littlest Time Lord Contemplates Laws of Attraction

I don't think I did today's prompt much justice, but a migraine stopped over to visit and pound my head to smithereens with a sledgehammer.

I wasn't much for for anything after that, so this is the best I could come up with.

DAY 21: THE LITTLEST TIME LORD CONTEMPLATES LAWS OF ATTRACTION

Synapses: around 0.5*ms per synapse per complicated thought.
Thoughts: generated and acted on in less than 150ms.
One thought: multiple neuron networks.

60 seconds into the future is as far as I can see or think.
We’re orbiting bodies, satellites, planet-moon gravity-joined at the hip
Navigating asteroid belts. How will I know? Know what? I don’t know.
60 seconds to lift off, 60 seconds to find out if we crash or we burn.
60 seconds, maybe less, to figure out us. If we make. If we break.

I don’t know. I don’t know any more other than
We’re orbiting bodies, satellites, planet-moon gravity-joined at the hip
Navigating asteroid belts called 'attraction'.

I’ve tiny hands. They’ll fit into the palm of yours
With room to spare.
Long orbit ahead. I’m game if you are.

*ms: milliseconds, ie: 0.5ms = 0.0005 seconds

This is the kind of light-flickering stuff that is so very like what a migraine feels like, and looks like when you close your eyes. Hope you zap it and it goes quickly.

Thank you so much Jane! Yes, I'm about to medicate and fall into the thing they call sleep. I hope I manage it or tomorrow is going to be ALL kinds of horrid.

"I'm game if you are," the motto of any good life. Such an amazing poem.

floating matter that sometimes collides is about as close to it as one can get. hoping migraine bounces off and goes elsewhere

I loved this! I hope your migraine is gone by the time you read this.
I love to watch disaster stuff, like what would happen if a huge death asteroid slammed into the Earth. Wouldn't be much we could do about it, so I don't concern myself with it too much. Still, it's a bit of a morbid fascination.
When I was younger I said that if I knew an asteroid was about to hit I'd stand there swigging from a bottle of hooch while flipping it off. These days, I think I'd probably sit there eating chocolate cake while glowering at it defiantly.

There is a power in every orbiting moment. Life force or even bodies. It can be fatal, but yes one dares to take that chance. Loved this celestial attraction you penned :)

Ron: 'I'm game if you are' has been (for better or worse) my entire life. Thank you!

Jade: Oh, I love how you put it - floating matter that sometimes collides indeed. Yes, the migraine did eventually bounce off and go away, but it took two days, ugh!

Cara: My migraine is finally gone yes! Oh, I just love how you'd defy an asteroid. I'd probably be reading, and doing calculations, and trying to steal your chocolate cake if it were nearby.

Sunita: Thank you so much Sunita! Yes, chance - every day, chance presents itself. Whether we take it or not - ahh, that's another matter.
