The boys of summer with their skateboards
suspended mid-air like a gasp
arc down - a kingfisher flash
onto concrete
skirting the edge of adolescence and flight:
fledgling birds trying their wings
before the girls of summer
emerge from their lace-and-lipstick cocoons.
